Featuring a Return Again Shabbat Morning Service

On Shabbat morning, June 16th during “Return Again” Shabbat services in the Charles E. Smith Sanctuary, we will honor Rabbi Gil Steinlauf and his extraordinary accomplishments at Adas Israel, and his truly transformative vision and leadership in our community and beyond. Rabbi Steinlauf will deliver the sermon that morning (around 11:30am), and we will hear remarks from key representatives of the Adas community, honoring Rabbi Steinlauf’s “Vision of Renewal” of our congregation, which has infused our community with contemporary prayer, spirituality and learning and inspired us to raise our acts of kindness and social action to new levels. We will also celebrate his conviction and passion to ensure that both the movement and the broader American Jewish community will now benefit from his vision. As he concludes his service this year as Senior Rabbinic Advisor, we look forward to this opportunity to honor and thank Rabbi Steinlauf, and to mark the next steps in his inspiring vision and work.
