An Evening with James Maisels - Playfulness, Somersaults & Risk Taking

Monday, January 14, 2019 8 Shevat 5779

7:30 PM - 9:00 PMPrivate Residence in Chevy Chase

Our lives can often feel like we have been turned on our heads. At such moments it can be easy to feel lost and overwhelmed, unprepared to experiment and take the leaps that may bring outer and inner change. Through exploring a Hasidic technique of cultivating the deep qualities of playfulness and risk-taking in our practice, we will experiment with meeting the topsy-turvy-ness of our times with bravery, compassion and creativity. Rabbi Jaimes Maisels is Founder and Spiritual Director of Or HaLev Center for Jewish Spirituality and Meditation in Israel. Ordained by Rav Daniel Landes, with a doctorate in Jewish Studies from the University of Chicago, Rav James lectures internationally on Jewish Spiritual practices. He also teaches at the Pardes Institute of Jewish Studies, Haifa University & Yeshivat Hadar. He strives to integrate his study with his practice, & to help teach & live Judaism as a spiritual discipline.

*PLEASE NOTE: This event will not be held at Adas Israel. Instead, it will be held at the home of a JMCW community member in Chevy Chase. The address will be forwarded after registration is complete, one week prior to the event.
