3GDCircle: A Microcommunity Discussion Group Set in Nature for the Descendants of Holocaust Survivors

Sunday, December 11, 2022 17 Kislev 5783

1:00 PM - 3:30 PMTregaron Conservancy in Cleveland Park

Organized by 3GDC - Washington DC Grandchildren of Holocaust Survivors in partnership with Briyut at Adas Israel, 3GDCircle is a peer discussion group formed to explore our common legacies of being the grandchildren of Holocaust survivors. The goal is to gain insight on the impact our shared 3G experiences have had on our lives and to be able to use this insight productively. We are inclusive of all descendants of Holocaust Survivors interested in discussing our shared family experiences. Each discussion circle will have a different theme and use background materials as a starting point. We will meet for a short hike followed by an outdoor discussion in a local park setting. This is not a therapy group, but a supportive group of peers where we can ask questions and find shared meaning about what we have in common as 3Gs. Our first meeting will be held Sunday, December 11th from 1:00-3:30pm. Meetings will convene the 2nd Sunday afternoon of the month. The goal of meeting outdoors in the elements year-round is to get us out of our comfort zones and foster unfiltered open discussion. We will meet rain or shine, cold or warm. Dress appropriately. Prepare to walk approximately 2miles.
Meeting Location - We will meet in Cleveland park at Tregaron Conservancy located at 3040 Macomb Street NW (Also the entrance to the Washington International School)
