Annual Congregational Meeting

Gather together with family and friends as we are treated to music with Cantor Brown, receive a teaching and blessings from our Rabbis, and honor Dennis Yedwab with the Yad Hakovod Award. The annual meeting is your chance to participate in the growth, health and vibrancy of your congregational community. This year we will be voting on our annual budget, nomination slate and revised board of director by-laws. Join together with family and friends as we plot a course for the next year of Jewish communal life in our remarkable congregation.

Dennis Yedwab
The Adas Israel Yad Hakavod Award honors a congregant who has distinguished themselves by serving the congregation and its members, or by providing exemplary leadership of projects, activities, or programs of the congregation. We are thrilled to honor Dennis Yedwab as this year’s Yad Hakavod Award recipient.
Adas Governance Review & Bylaws Update
Last year, President Beth Heifetz appointed a Task Force to examine the Adas Israel governance structure and to assess whether it serves the interests of Adas members and operates efficiently and effectively. After significant work, the Task Force concluded that Adas would be better served with a revised governance structure. Together with expert pro bono counsel, Nancy G. Rubin and Adam Tommer of Skadden Arps, the Task Force designed a new model which is spelled out in proposed Bylaws and implementing documents. The Adas Board has approved these documents and the next step in this process, pursuant to our current bylaws, is to seek member approval at our Annual Meeting on June 18th.

The Task Force scheduled three informational meetings to walk you through the proposed revisions and answer any questions you might have. The third meeting is Thursday, June 12th, at noon, via the link is below.
