Professional Development Workshop in Co-Creating Ritual
Sunday, March 24, 2019 • 17 Adar II 5779
10:00 AM - 2:00 PMBoard Room & MikvahAs Mikvah Guides you know that people come to immerse in the Mikvah for many profound reasons. In this training, we'll focus on techniques that you can use as part of your "spiritual toolbox" to help others create meaningful rituals that go beyond (but might still include) the beautiful laminated sheets from Mayyim Hayyim. (Those are a wonderful resource and yet are just ONE tool that we can use). Everyone has within them the ability to co-create! This workshop helps you tap into skills you already have and will deepen your own practice of Mikvah Guiding.
Join Rabbi Sarah Tasman, founder of the Tasman Center for Jewish Creativity & JMCW/Adas Israel Community Mikvah faculty member and Steph Black, our Adas Israel Community Mikvah Intern for a special opportunity to learn how to Co-Create Rituals. Example of other ritual tools can include:
· Texts (such as poems, prayers, personal writings)
· Community (who if anyone should accompany them)
· Songs (playlists or singing--you don’t have to have a great voice!)
· Scents (candles, oils, etc)
· Movement (yoga, stretching, other symbolic postures)
· Taste (symbolic foods or drinks)
· Breathing & Guided Meditation
· Using silence intentionally
· Holding Space for Spontaneity
We will be exploring how co-created rituals differ from what we currently offer, deepening our active listening skills, and Training/Role Playing on supporting others in ritual creation.
Lunch and snacks will be provided. Please register by March 15, 2019.
Sorry, Registration has ended.
