Tot Shabbat

For children 5 and under (and parents)

meets weekly

Led by Menuhah Peters, Tot Shabbat has captivated our youngest Adas members and their parents for years. From marching with their own Torahs to meditational chanting, to using instruments and dancing, the service is fun and invigorating for parents and children alike. Every Tot Shabbat is followed by Kiddush and Motzi (grape juice, challah and blessings) after which families are invited to attend the congregational Kiddush.

For Kindergarten-3rd graders

meets weekly

Netivot is Hebrew for “pathways.” Children have the opportunity to begin building their leadership skills and lead prayers while participating in a Shabbat tefillah service. The service also includes an age-appropriate Torah service and a story connected to the Parsha (weekly Torah portion) or an opportunity to act out Parsha skits. Every Netivot Service is followed Kiddush and Motzi (grape juice, challah and blessings) after which families are invited to attend the congregational Kiddush.

Parshat Hashavua

For 8th-12th graders

meets weekly

Our semi-weekly Parsha classes are a Shabbat afternoon learning opportunity for our eighth through twelfth grade students. The classes examine the weekly Parsha with the help of Midrash, various ancient and contemporary commentaries, and other Jewish resources. In looking at the text through various lenses, we seek to uncover the many of the lessons the Torah offers us in each pasuk, or sentence.
