Elasticity – Maximizing the boundaries of thought, practice & identity.

Crafting a religious life isn’t a straight path from A to Z. Don’t worry, it was never meant to be. There’s no one recipe, no clear and defined edges and boundaries, and rarely a perfectly calibrated compass readily available for quick and easy answers. Religious life is the messy and exciting journey somewhere between all the crisp and clean clarity so many seem to advocate in the public space these days. One of our primary goals at Adas Israel is to move beyond the black and white, think past the fleeting memes, set aside the cliches, and access our Torah in a way that helps us navigate life as it actually is. For that, we must assume a state of elasticity. Or, the ability to bend without breaking, be firmly planted in something deep and meaningful, but without getting so stuck we become fossilized. This February, join us for a series of sessions exploring our roots and our boundaries and our edges and our expansiveness.

In order to make these engaging and relevant learning options open to as many people as possible, we have decided to offer almost all of the programming at no charge, thanks to the generosity of many Adas members. At the same time, we still cannot possibly expect to cover all the costs associated with producing these important programs without additional support from you. When you register for an event, you will be presented with the option to offer a donation. Thanks in advance for your support.
