Lev B’Lev Speaker Series
Featuring Michael Niconchuk

October 27 @ 1pm, Biran Beit Midrash

Niconchuk is a Fulbright Scholar, a researcher and technical consultant with Beyond Conflict, a Boston-based nonprofit that applies brain science to design and promote new tools that reduce conflict, increase tolerance and facilitate positive social change in the United States and abroad. His critical work engages the links between brain, mind, and behavior within issues of violence and social belonging. Among other things, will help us unpack the dramatic personal stories of hate and redemption we heard during our first set of LBL speakers (Rais Bhuiyan, Angela King, Daryl Davis, and Tolu Olubunmi). A recap of those stories will be provided.

Niconchuk will be appearing at Adas as part of our Lev B’Lev speaker series on Saturday, October 27 from 1:00 to 2:30 pm. As Lev B’Lev continues to explore hate in America, Mike will bring a neuroscience perspective that will help us understand what motivates hate and reveal strategies for bringing about positive change for individuals, societies, and governments. He’ll also share lessons learned from his field work with refugees around the world.
