Cohen Lecture |
|
|
|
The Naomi and Nehemiah Cohen Memorial Lecture was established in 2003 by their children and
grandchildren to sustain the Cohen's interest and activity in Israel and world
Jewry by bringing extraordinary Jewish thinkers from throughout the world to our
congregation and our community. Past speakers have included Avraham Burg, Amram
Mitzna, Dr. Deborah E. Lipstadt, Dr. David Hartman, and Rabbi Irving "Yitz"
Greenberg.
The
Seventh Annual Lecture will feature speaker Anat Hoffman, Executive Director of the Israel Religious Action Center. Ms. Hoffman has dedicated her adult life to the Jewish principle of tikkun olam.
It is this commitment to social action and justice that has formed her career.
She is a sought-after lecturer, addressing audiences in Israel and in the United
States on subjects close to her heart: social justice, religious pluralism,
Jewish-Arab coexistence, and equal rights for women and minorities
