Becoming a bar / bat mitzvah at Adas Israel...

This invaluable course of study marks the attainment of an important Jewish milestone. It is designed to integrate participants into the religious life of the congregation. With individualized instruction from our Cantors supplemented by learning in our Religious School or local Jewish Day Schools, bar and bat mitzvah candidates learn the basic religious skills which help them feel at home on the pulpit and in the synagogue.

A series of workshops, mini-courses, and meetings for parents are culminated by an annual bat/bar mitzvah family weekend retreat with Rabbi Wohlberg.

Bar and bat mitzvah students are encouraged to participate in a meaningful tzedakah project as they begin to accept the mitzvot of a responsible young adult while marking this significant milestone in their lives.
