Rabbi Gil Steinlauf joined Adas Israel as our
senior rabbi in August 2008. Rabbi Steinlauf had been the
Rabbi of Temple Israel in New Jersey since 2001. He is a summa cum laude
graduate of Princeton University (1991), studied at the Pardes Institute in Jerusalem, received an M.H.L. from the
University of
Judaism in 1994, and received Rabbinic ordination as well as
an M.A. from the Jewish Theological Seminary in New York in
1998. Rabbi Steinlauf was
the assistant Rabbi at Congregation Tifereth Israel in
Columbus, Ohio. Additionally, he served at the
National Center for Jewish Healing and at the Jewish Board
of Family and Children's Services, both in New York.
Rabbi Steinlauf originally hails
from Jericho, New York, and is married to Rabbi Batya
Steinlauf. They have 3 children, Elana, Noah
and Meirav. Rabbi Steinlauf enjoys in-depth study of
Jewish texts, academic research, writing, and reading works
of philosophy, theology, and inter-religious studies. When
not functioning in his official capacity, Rabbi Steinlauf is
an avid swimmer and runner, and together the Steinlauf
family enjoys camping and hiking in the great outdoors.

Charles
M. Feinberg, Associate Rabbi, came to Adas Israel in August 2006, having
served as Rabbi for 8 years at Congregation Beth Israel in Vancouver, British
Columbia. Previously, Rabbi Feinberg served in congregations in Poughkeepsie,
New York and Madison, Wisconsin. He spent nearly twenty summers teaching at Camp
Ramah where he designed and taught an innovative prayer curriculum for campers
12 and 13 years of age. While in Vancouver, Rabbi Feinberg founded and
co-chaired the Jewish-Christian Dialogue and served as President of the Multifaith Action Society of Vancouver. He was also the founder and first
President of the Association of Attending Clergy at Madison General Hospital.
Rabbi Feinberg has chaired the Rabbinical Assembly Social Action Committee,
which developed the RA Advocacy Day (an annual event hosted by Adas Israel)
bringing up to 50 Conservative Rabbis to Washington, DC to advocate public
policy positions. He was the recipient of the 2002 Rabbinic Leadership Award by
the United Jewish Communities and the Gold Medal Human Service Award by Saint
Cabrini Home in 1996. Rabbi Feinberg was ordained by the Jewish Theological
Seminary of America in 1973. He holds a Master of Arts Degree and Bachelors
Degree from the Jewish Theological Seminary and a Bachelors Degree from Columbia
University.

Cantor Jeffrey Weber joined Adas
Israel Congregation in July 2005 after serving Temple Emanuel of North
Jersey, Paterson, NJ and as a student cantor at Temple Beth El,
Springfield, MA and Congregation Beth El, New London, CT. Cantor Weber
attended the Jewish Theological Seminary, H.L Miller Cantorial School
where he earned a Diploma of Hazzan and a Masters of Sacred Music. He
holds a Bachelor of Music from The Juilliard School of Music and plays
guitar and piano. Cantor Weber has performed with The Metropolitan Opera
and The New York City Opera and participated in many Cantorial concerts
and several music festivals. He and his wife, Andrea have two young

Hazzan Jenna Greenberg, Ritual Director, is a graduate of the H.L. Miller Cantorial School at the Jewish Theological Seminary of America where she received a Master’s in Sacred Music. Originally from Philadelphia, Hazzan Greenberg also lived in Pittsburgh, and holds a B.A. in Music from Earlham College. As an undergraduate, Hazzan Greenberg studied choral music in Vienna, Austria and began her cantorial studies in Jerusalem for one year. She was a member of the Zamir Chorale of New York.

Glenn S. Easton, FSA, ATz, Executive Director, joined the Adas Israel staff in 1991 following a successful career as a synagogue administrator in California and Maryland. Glenn serves as Honorary President of the North American Association of Synagogue Executives (NAASE), and President-Elect of the Jewish Communal Service Association of North America. He is on the Board of Directors of MERCAZ, the ZIV Tzedakah Fund, and Friends of Allison. He has served in leadership positions with the Mid-Atlantic Temple & Synagogue Administrators Association, the Greater Washington Society of Association Executives, and the Montgomery County Educational Advisory Council. Glenn holds a Master's Degree in Public Administration from the University of Judaism where he was awarded the Benjamin Platt Award for Academic Excellence and the Mickey Weiss Award for Distinguished Alumni. He earned a BA in History from California State University, Northridge with additional coursework at UCLA and Tel Aviv University while recognized as a California State Scholar. Glenn has been recognized by his peers as a "Fellow in Synagogue Administration" and was commissioned an "Amin Tzibur" by the Jewish Theological Seminary of America. He has published numerous newsletters and articles in professional journals and magazines on non-profit management, fund raising, strategic planning, volunteerism, and automation.

Joshua
Bender, Director of Education, joined the Adas Israel staff
in July 2007. Josh holds a Masters in Jewish Education from Baltimore Hebrew University which included an administrative and teaching internship at Krieger Schechter Day School in Baltimore. He earned a BA in English with a minor in Jewish Studies from Penn State University.
Prior to coming to Adas Israel, he served as Education Director and Principal at Beth Am Synagogue in Baltimore since 2000 and worked part-time as Director of Reshet Baltimore for Hillel of Greater Baltimore. He is a past chair of the Baltimore Principal’s Council and has served on the Board of the Center for Jewish Education.
In addition to his formal Jewish education work experience, Josh served as Director of Teen and Young Adult Services and Camp Director for the Jewish Community Center of Wilkes-Barre, PA. He also worked as a Religious School Teacher and Director of Children’s Services for Temple Israel and taught Modern Jewish history, Bible, and Jewish Values at the Gratz Hebrew High School Program, both in Wilkes-Barre. Josh
is a native of Kingston, PA. His wife Julie, a Baltimore native, worked
as a Social Worker, LCSWC at Sinai Hospital for eight years where she specialized in Pediatric Cancer and HIV.
She took a break when their son Noah was born in 2005.

Shelley Remer,
Gan Hayeled Director, came to Adas Israel in 1991. From 1985 until she joined Adas, she was director of the Kehilat Shalom Nursery School in Gaithersburg, Maryland. She was previously a teacher at Beth Shalom Learning Center and a teacher in the Prince Georges County School System. She holds a Master's Degree from the University of Maryland. Shelly served as president of Women's American ORT, Washington Region, and the National Jewish Early Childhood Network and vice-president of Har Shalom Congregation. Shelley.Remer@AdasIsrael.org

Elie
Greenberg, Director of Informal Programming, came to Adas Israel in July 2005 to serve as
Youth, Family,
and Young Professionals Program Director, thanks to
a generous two-year grant by synagogue Trustee, Jack Kay. Elie is a
graduate of Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida with a BA in
Religious Studies and a minor in Jewish Studies. He graduated the Hebrew
Day School of Central Florida and long time Camp Ramah attendee, Elie
has extensive experience as a teacher, USY advisor, and camp counselor.
He plays guitar and has worked as a music specialist and song leader in
several Jewish organizations. Working with Adas
Israel clergy, staff, and lay leaders, Elie is concentrating on building
the synagogue’s youth and family programs and is also working with
our religious school, college students, singles, and young
professionals. In addition, he assists in synagogue membership
recruitment of families with children. Elie may be reached at
